The Macallan Carta Nautica 105 Proof

After years of careful maturation, The Macallan Carta Nautica, 105 Proof brings together a carefully curated selection of sherry seasoned American oak casks alongside casks that once held bourbon, including some that curiously completed their maturation in sherry seasoned American oak.

The result is a rewarding, well-travelled triumvirate. 'Proof' is a traditional measure of alcohol strength, where 105 proof is equivalent to 52.5% ABV.

A nutty depth and sweetness derived from sherry seasoned American oak casks takes centre stage. Casks that previously held bourbon bring notes of vanilla and lemon, brightening the profile. 

Nose

Immediately sweet with nougat, vanilla and honeycomb. There's a lovely nuttiness reminiscent of almond brittle followed by indulgent lemon drizzle cake.

Palate

Rich with toffee and golden syrup initially then balanced fruitiness from poached pear, green apple and candied orange.

Finish

Malt biscuit, citrus peel and gentle oak spice.
